Chris Jenkins | Tattoo Artist
MoreImagine a soul resurrected from the 1920s goes to a coffee shop today.
It would be quite a challenge to order up the “regular” cup of 100 years ago: “half-caf,” “skinny,” “double-shot,” “blonde roast...” – the barristas are haggard, the crowd impatient – what hope is there for such a visitor to achieve satisfaction? Now imagine you have decided to memorialize a vision on skin – a tattoo only dreamed but never seen – where do you go? How do you know what to “order” if you don’t know the jargon?
Enter Chris Jenkins.
As a young child, Chris fell in love with those who save the day: first Superman and later the Ninja Turtles. With Rafael as his alter ego, he started drawing his heroes; he started drawing everything. In school he enrolled in every art class offered, and when he exhausted new courses, he took his favorites again. When it came time for college, he followed the direction of previous generations and enrolled in teacher education but quickly tired of the old guard’s stranglehold on creativity. He thought he’d rather wait tables than clip his artistic wings.
Enter tattooing – the art of rescue – a way to give life to the non-living.
Chris’s mother calls his style “Demented Cartoon;” he calls it “Neo-fictional Realism.” But as with the lingo of java-ordering, the words mean little to the dreamers. Those who seek to have an imagined picture manifest only care about the result: the tattoo they envisioned becoming real-life.
Chris appreciates the philosophy of art across the board:
in words, in pictures, in thought and act, and as a global panacea. Chris asks you to suspend your disbelief, to know what you imagine isn’t real but to believe it COULD be. He welcomes inquisitiveness, listens to your vision, and anticipates joy. He seeks such symbiosis with you, his living, breathing canvas.
The most important thing to know about Chris Jenkins as your artist is that he wants what you want –
for you to feel happy every time you look at your tattoo. Whether you have the bare bones of an idea, a faded memory to camouflage, or a panoramic display in mind, he CAN save your day.
Illustrations
Chris’s tattooing style most closely associates with “new school” – endless, vivid color, caricature-like strokes and shapes, and extreme depth of shading –but as depicted in his portfolio, he is well adept at a variety of type and kind. He is only limited by YOUR imagination.
Thought to put every business in the spotlight

"So Chris did my tattoo and let me start off by saying I absolutely love it! The shop itself is very clean with a dope vibe. The receptionists are hella nice, helpful and organized. My experience was nothing less of excellent. Chris made me feel very comfortable as he began my tattoo he went through great lengths to make sure I would be happy with the end result. He was quick professional and pretty funny. And it didn’t even hurt! I will definitely be going back for more. I just wanted to thank you again for the amazing tattoo. I am absolutely in love with it! You made my experience very enjoyable as well as entertaining. I was sad that the experience had to come to an end. Which only means I’ve got to come back for more lol."
"I just had my first appointment with Chris Jenkins. It was around three hours and I cannot tell you how comfortable I was being tattooed by him. He has a good time while being professional, and his artistry is on a whole new level. I also really enjoyed how clean the shop is.It's a great facility with really wonderful people. I hope Jesse realizes how lucky he is with the crew he has!!"
"I can't say enough about my experience at this establishment. Firstly, it is professionally run as a real business not your stereotypical tattoo shop. Chris Jenkins worked on both my son and me all daylong. He didn't stop to eat or stretch and delivered meticulous detailed replicas of the art work we brought with us. The room we were in resembled a dental office in its order and cleanliness. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and very fun to talk to. This was my son’s first tattoo and my second and if I choose to get another tattoo it will be there in the heart of Cary town at Loose Screws!! I will definitely be referring people to Chris."
